Outstanding Service Award presented at the European Productivity Conference 2009

Outstanding Service Awards

Outstanding Service Awards are given to editorial contributors to mark many years of service and support for their journals. Previous winners have included Dilys Wells, founder of Nutrition & Food Science and the journal's editor for over 30 years, Michael Thomas, Founding Editor of Marketing Intelligence & Planning, Graham Cornish and Maurice Line, giants in the field of library scholarship and both former editors of Interlending & Document Supply.

For long standing support and consistently high contributions to the Emerald journals, we reward:

John Heap
For his work on International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management

John is Director of the National Productivity Centre of the UK and holds a particular view of productivity which suggests that to be sustainable in the longer-term, business performance should be based around all of social productivity, environmental productivity and economic productivity.  John is experienced in many aspects of policy development, in building productivity infrastructures and in designing productivity and performance improvement programmes.

This experience has been recognised through a number of appointments.  Currently John is President of the World Confederation of Productivity Science, a Board Member of the European Association of National Productivity Centres, a Council Member of the Institute of Management Services and co-editor of the International Journal of Productivity & Performance Management.

John also has a major interest in the productivity of education and learning and a particular interest in the design and development of online learning and associated infrastructures.
