Abstract:

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify the contribution of off-site manufacturing application towards sustainable construction.

Design/methodology/approach – The paper looks at different views and ideas of sustainable construction and assesses the impact of off-site manufacturing towards sustainability.

Findings – Many aspects of off-site manufacturing practices and applications are contributing to sustainable construction.

Originality/value – The paper is of value as it outlines to researcher and practitioner on the values of off-site manufacturing, i.e. on environmental impacts, ease of construction, construction time saving and construction waste management.
